Corset back with lacing

Price C$300.00

Product Code: 01-CORSET OB

Weekend Corset Class for Overbust Corset - Montreal - Closed (French translation available)
Also held in Stratford, Ontario (English only) Stratford - Closed

Two full days start with measuring your body and adjusting a commercial pattern to fit you. Cutting the pattern out of coutil, basting it together and having it fit by the teacher, then adjust the pattern to reflect the changes so you have a pattern that fits you for future use. Sew the corset together, make bone casings, install the busk and lacing tape, then bind the edges and you'll be done...though not during class time. This is an opportunity to learn techniques; it's not about finishing the corset it's all about learning.

All materials and use of our sewing machines is included in the fee.

Bring fashion fabric; thread to match and extra wide double fold bias tape to match, if you want to make a fashion corset. Lacing tape in white will be used and it will be visible on the outside of the corset.

  • The class in Montreal will be held at Ecole de Couture Celine Ross and taught in English with french translation.
  • The Stratford Class is held at Farthingales

5 of 5 Corset Class-2 day class November 16, 2016
Reviewer: Margaret Hines from Whitby , ON Canada
I found this class to be excellent.  I especially liked the fitting and pattern drafting phase of the class.  Unfortunately we were unable to finish the corsets during class time.  I would very much like to see this class offered as a three day workshop, I would take it again.  I would also like to take an advanced corsetry workshop that would cover different types of corsets, creating a two layer corset and working with unusual fabrics such as lace & sheer fabrics.  Other embellishments such as beading, etc.  Or perhaps a class that covers pattern drafting and fitting only.
